Samsung complains about influx of fake phones into Ghana

samsungThe Director of Household Products at Samsung Ghana, Mr. Jaspreet Singh, has bemoaned the influx of fake Samsung products on the Ghanaian market and called for the collaboration of everyone especially the Ghanaian media to combat this unfortunate development in the country.

According to him, the availability of such fake products on the market poses a big challenge in the mobile phone industry and affects mobile phone producers the world over. “We entreat you to work with us; make us your first point of contact; help us flush out these fake goods so that our cherished customer, like you can enjoy authentic, genuine products,” he said.

Mr Singh made this revelation at the official launch of the new Samsung K Zoom in Accra. He noted that Samsung, being the only mobile phone dealer in the country that offers a two year warranty on all its phones to its customers, has taken it upon itself to embark on product awareness campaigns to educate customers on genuine Samsung products.

“We have done all of awareness campaigns to educate the customers to identify the products, because it’s our responsibility to ensure that customers is able to differentiate at the point of purchase between a counterfeit and a genuine product,” he added.
